Dr. Erin Costigliolo holds a PhD in Economics from UC Irvine, specializing in Industrial Organizations and Environmental Economics. With five years of professional tutoring experience and a background as a Teaching Assistant, Erin excels in guiding students through Economics, Statistics, Algebra, and Calculus.
Erin's tutoring philosophy is rooted in creating a personalized and engaging learning environment. She believes in fostering critical thinking and a genuine interest in the subjects she teaches. Dr. Nicole Golden
Dr. Golden is an empirical economist and data scientist with a diverse background. Her professional journey spans economic research, data science, and international collaboration across academic institutions, government, NGOs like the UN and World Bank, and private firms. Inspired by the wisdom of Archilochus, she embraces the ethos of the "fox the generalist," integrating her broad skill set to tackle complex modern challenges.
A passionate educator, Dr. Golden has been teaching since 2007, sharing her expertise in English and Mandarin. During her PhD, she led courses in advanced economics, probability, and econometrics. A lifelong learner at heart, she’s always expanding her horizons—recently delving into French and Spanish, with generative AI next on her list. Whether uncovering insights through data or mastering new skills, she thrives on curiosity, discovery, and the joy of learning.
Faith Bague-Sampson
Faith Bague-Sampson will earn her doctorate in Economics from the University of California, Irvine, in June 2025. Her areas of specialization are experimental economics and macroeconomics with an emphasis on household finance and behavioral economics. Faith has four years of experience as a Teaching Assistant for a variety of Economics courses, and has provided instruction and tutoring in Algebra, Statistics, and Calculus.
Faith strives to create an environment where students feel like a partner in the learning process, empowered to ask questions, and comfortable sharing specific areas of weakness. Her tutoring style balances foundational instruction with active problem-solving and skills-based learning. She places special emphasis on the when, why, and how of the skills and strategies necessary for understanding and success in a course: when should a method be applied, why is the method appropriate for the problem, and how does one correctly execute the method.
Jeeyoung Yoon
Jeeyoung Yoon is a Ph.D. candidate in Economics at the University of California, Invine. She has 8 years of experience as a Teaching Assistant and a tutor in undergraduate and graduate-level courses in Economics. Her expertise centers around Macroeconomics, Monetary Economics and International Finance with professional experience in Banco de Mexico and International Monetary Fund. She provides tutoring on Economics, Statistics, Algebra, and Calculus.
When it comes to teaching, Jeeyoung believes learning Economics and Mathematics is all about thinking logically and making connections. As a lifelong learner who loves exploring new ideas and uncovering connections between concepts, she enjoys sharing this excitement with students and making learning an engaging experience. Instead of just giving answers, she helps students break down problems step by step, asking guiding questions along the way. Her goal is to make challenging concepts feel intuitive and even enjoyable - because once it clicks, learning can actually be pretty fun!
Waylon Jones
Waylon Jones has a Bachelors of Computer Science degree from Cal Poly Pomona, and worked for both Mindbody and AWS as a software engineer over five years of experience.
His main programming focus is on Backend Engineering, working extensively with languages like C# / Java / Python and gaining experience with other languages throughout the years. He's spent time tutoring throughout high school and college and always enjoys seeing the "ah-ha" moment click inside his students.
More than just rote memorization, many computer science concepts are best visualized before attempting to create them in code. Waylon focuses on providing clear understanding for students so that their foundation is strong enough to tackle the wide variety of problems within the field.

Josh Sambasivam
Josh is a passionate and knowledgeable tutor with a strong academic background in Computer Science and Linguistics. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and a minor in Linguistics from UCLA, where he also served as a tutor for fellow undergraduates through the prestigious honor society Upsilon Pi Epsilon. Currently, Josh is furthering his expertise by pursuing a Master’s in Computer Science at Georgia Tech.
With a deep love for computer science and its foundational subjects like Math and Physics, Josh excels at breaking down complex concepts into easy-to-understand lessons. His interest in linguistics also makes him an asset for otherwise uncommon subjects, and he is proficient in both Spanish and French. In the realm of Computer Science, Josh takes a special interest in programming languages and has a wide knowledge of essentially all commonly used languages.

Kaitlyn Bateman
Kaitlyn will be a UCLA graduate in March 2025 with a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics. She plans to apply to medical school and continue her passion for the sciences and medicine.
With a primary emphasis in immunological research, Kaitlyn has developed a strong understanding of biology and chemistry, supported by her coursework in physics and math. Her favorite part of tutoring is working together to solve and understand a problem. Kaitlyn tries to foster understanding over memorization and works with students to break down complex problems to be more digestible.

Paige Costigliolo
Paige Costigliolo will graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Political Science with a concentration in American Politics and another Bachelor’s degree in History from UCLA in March of 2025. With a strong academic foundation and a passion for education, she specializes in tutoring Political Science, History, Spanish, and Writing.
Paige believes that learning should be engaging and accessible. She helps students develop a deep understanding of complex concepts by focusing on critical thinking and real-world applications.
